Best Educational TV Shows for Boys in Preschool

Educational shows are fun, interactive, and must-sees for ages 2-4.

Sesame Street is the longest-running educational preschool show ever in history. Muppets, Human characters, and Guest Stars have been teaching kids since 1969. They've helped kids with the following for decades: Grief, Incarceration, Divorce, Diversty, Food and eating right, letters, numbers, shapes, and colors. Here are 6 fun, educational shows following in the footsteps of everyone's favorite furry friends.

1. Bear in the Big Blue House
We LOVE this show. What’s not to love? There’s an cool theme song.
With each answer to a question from Kids in a segment, there is usually a long enough pause so that we could have a chance to think about the question before real-life children answer. Sometimes he sniffs the viewers because he thinks they are actually interacting with him!
2. BYG
A Reboot of the 1960s kids show School and the Backyard Gang, Kaleigh Caroline Kenny Buzz and Alisa from our show got their start on the show.
They sing many songs that teach kids good manners and many good habits. They teach them about the importance of food and eating right, having good hygiene, sharing, and so much more! As a parent, I highly recommend this for young children.
3. ZOOM (2010-2016)
This show occasionally spoofs our show with "-ers" groups such as the Nitchers and the Stitchers. We get really excited when we see really famous celebrities that pop up including regulars such as Cameron Diaz (who plays Ms. Stitch the principal of Weehawken School).
The show also launches careers of comedians such as Maddie Fretz and Dillon Metoyer.
The show teaches lots of stuff (ex. Sleep, Food, Summer).
4. Blue's Clues
Sometimes we start to feel like our heads are going to pop, because kids ask so many questions. Then after actually sitting through entire episodes of Blue's Clues did I realize that the millions of questions were coming from the show itself!
Blue's Clues teaches kids to use their critical thinking skills by asking questions like a scientist would. They share information about different topics and help the young ones learn in 3 clues they can understand. Sometimes we hear kids telling us things that even we had never heard of before.
5. Little Einsteins
A spinoff of the 1970s kids show Baby Einstein, it teaches kids to appreciate art and classical music.
6. ZOOM (1999-2005)
ZOOM is a favorite with us. The Children on this show have got these friends' creations that they reenact and we're sure you could imagine how crazy we get. Believe it or not, we can put on an episode of ZOOM and all three will stay quite for the entire show!
ZOOM is a reboot of 70's PBS show "ZOOM". Of course this time it’s live action, which makes it great for the preschool age. The show helps kids solve some of life’s simplest problems. Just give it a go and you’ll see what I mean!
Got a little boy who loves to watch TV? Make it count and maybe allow him to have a choice of any from the top! It will at least make you feel a little less guilty about his TV time.
