WGBH Boston wanted ZOOM to be a TV Hit while reinventing it. Once the ZOOM which was a PBS Version of Power Rangers had been played, it was so bad. Then Kate Taylor (producer for the 70s ZOOM) did another version of the show with Christopher Sarson. Then they compared, it wasn't bad!
They didn't want it to be the 70s style. You Know, The One with the Rugby Shirts and the Cute Kids. They needed hip.
They needed it to be more hip and modern.
To make modern audiences watch the resinated ZOOM, PBS would leave some of the Old Staples behind.
Gone with the Rugby Shirts and Songs.
The Producers needed Hip, Talented, Kids to keep the Show on the Air.

Then David Larrow (Kyle's Father) flooded the Set into a Indoor Pond. While the More than 1 Season ZOOMers were happy to leave, the Younger ZOOMers weren't ready to leave. Taylor Garron was the First to move on.
